Ljubljana – Vipava – Štanjel – Ljubljana
Bus departs around 7.00 am from Ljubljana heading southwest, to the midst of the Slovene Littoral. The first destination is the town of Vipava, which is a hospitable town of many natural attractions, cultural testaments and above all water. It has as many as twenty-five bridges to cross seven springs, which are the sources of the Vipava river. A Slovene series, named Najini mostovi, meaning The Bridges of our Love, was filmed here so a local guide will take us to the main set locations. We’ll see the Old Bridge, the Lanthieri manor, the Pavel Rušt square, the Park and others.
Next, we have lunch at one of the local inns.
Our last destination is Štanjel, one of the oldest settlements in the Karst. Architectural characteristics, strategic position high on the terraces of the Turn hill and the Castle complex make Štanjel a unique cultural and historic landmark. After a walk through this picturesque village we shall enjoy a cup of coffee before we return to Ljubljana around 5.00 pm.
