Bus departs at 7:30 am from Ljubljana. In Muljava, a local guide will be joining us to take us along the River of Love. The foreign visitors are not familiar with the series, which is why we briefly show the actual sets and then concentrate on the spring of the river Krka and the Krka cave.
Our next destination is Novo mesto. We board a Rudolf raft and move along a meander of the river Krka. The ride is fascinating since this meander embraces the city and we are able to see the sights from different angles as we move under three bridges, pass Castle Kamen and Novi dvor mansion (today’s hospital). Perhaps the most imposing is the Cathedral of St Nikolaj, which dominates the top of the hill, while the slope, named Breg, remains popular among the painters. We also see the Franciscan church and the monastery. On the raft, however, Novo mesto and the Krka are presented yet in another way by some animators. A participant of our group will become an honorary member of Rudolf’s rafters, receiving a certificate for this occasion. Lunch is served on the raft.
Our last stop is Otočec on the Krka river. Although we will not visit the interior of the castle, there is plenty to see around the castle Otočec and the sorroundings. We head back and arrive to Ljubljana in the afternoon, around 5.30 pm.
