Many Slovenians and foreigners believe, that Bled and Bohinj, genuine Slovenian Alpine gems, constitute possibly the most fascinating part of Slovenia. Bled and Lake Bled, an Alpine glacial lake with an isle, have been a cosmopolitan destination for centuries. Beautiful nature, rejuvenating energies and the tales of the past make this place extraordinary. Enjoy the view of the lake from the castle on the cliffs and visit the Isle of Bled with a traditional oar boat, called pletna.
In the Julian Alps and Triglav national park there lies sublime Bohinj. Lake Bohinj and the magnificient valley of Bohinj offer a variety of sceneries and destinations to choose from: the majestic mountain peaks, green forests, plateaus, Alpine pastures, meadows and picturesque villages. Ever present cultural heritage and the hospitality of the people will make it a memorable experience.
We leave Ljubljana early in the morning. Our first destination is Lake Bohinj and the sorrounding area, which is one of the most beautiful parts of the Julian Alps. First we walk to Savica Waterfall, with a 60-metre water drop, then we take a cable car to Vogel, a 1530-metre-high ski resort above Bohinj. A cable ride and Vogel offer stunning views of the Julian Alps, including the highest Slovenia’s peak, Mt Triglav. Once back in tha valley, we visit Bled.
After an informative presentation of Bled, there is some free time and every participant can decide whether to take a walk along the lake, take a pletna to the Isle of Bled or ascend the castle which proudly rises on the cliffs above Lake Bled. In the evening we return to Ljubljana.
